Troubleshooting in ACL Rehabilitation

A recent professional development session highlighted the importance of criteria-based rehabilitation following ACL reconstruction — particularly using objective strength benchmarks before returning to running.

Key strength targets discussed:

  • Single-leg press: ~1.5 × bodyweight
  • Single-leg calf raise: 30 repetitions
  • Single-leg hip abduction: ~⅓ bodyweight
  • Knee extension strength: ~3 Nm/kg or ~⅓ bodyweight
